Honoring a Legacy of Giving: PSU Alumni Provide 143 Scholarships for Staff Members’ Children, Strengthening Educational Opportunities and a Culture of Giving Across the PSU Community
The Prince of Songkla University Alumni Association, together with alumni associations and clubs from various faculties, presented 143 educational scholarships to the children of PSU staff members as part of the 2026 PSU Staff Children Scholarship Program.
Held on September 24, 2026, Mahidol Day, the initiative aims to provide educational opportunities for the next generation while carrying forward the values of giving and contributing to the greater good.
Now in its third year, the scholarship presentation ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Wirote Yuravong, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations at PSU. He was joined by Mr. Kamol Panrat, President of the PSU Staff Council, and Mr. Siam Suwannarat, President of the Prince of Songkla University Alumni Association, in congratulating the scholarship recipients.
On behalf of the scholarship supporters, Mr. Charan Weerapongwatanakul, President of the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association, shared remarks and encouragement with the recipients and their families. Representatives from PSU’s faculty alumni associations also joined the ceremony.
The scholarship presentation is held on Mahidol Day in remembrance of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol of Songkla, whose dedication to serving others continues to inspire the PSU community. The initiative also reflects the alumni network’s appreciation for university staff, whose contributions have long supported PSU’s development.
This year, 10 alumni associations and clubs contributed a total of 143 scholarships. These included alumni networks from the Faculties of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, Management Sciences, Natural Resources, Science, Agro-Industry, Nursing, and Medical Technology.
More than financial support, the initiative reflects the continuing connection among PSU alumni, staff, and the university community. By helping create educational opportunities for the next generation, PSU alumni hope to carry forward a culture of giving and strengthen the bonds within the PSU family for years to come.
