PSU Trang Launches ICT Talent Center, Advancing Andaman’s Digital Hub
Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus, in collaboration with the Office of Human Resources Development and Social Mission, officially opened the PSU ICT Talent Development and Innovation Center, also known as “The Andaman Digital Learning Hub,” marking an important step in strengthening digital learning and technology development in the Andaman region. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Songklod Sawangwong, Governor of Trang Province. Asst. Prof. Dr. Jumphon Chuenjitsiri, Vice President for Trang Campus, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwet Arunberkfa, Director of the Office of Human Resources Development and Social Mission, welcomed guests to the event on 17 August 2026.

The establishment of the center is the result of active collaboration among Prince of Songkla University, P Plus Visions Co., Ltd., and Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The partnership aims to strengthen PSU Trang Campus as a regional hub for learning, technology, and digital innovation, while developing skilled professionals who are prepared for the continuing transition toward a digital economy and society.
The center has been designed as a hands-on learning environment where participants can learn, practice, and explore emerging technologies. Its programs focus on upskilling and reskilling in three key areas that are increasingly important in the global workforce: Digital Infrastructure and Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Cybersecurity.
As its first training program, the center launched the Huawei Certified ICT Associate – Artificial Intelligence (HCIA-AI) course, held from 17–21 August 2026 at PSU Trang Campus. The program brought together 44 academic and support staff members from all five PSU campuses — Trang, Hat Yai, Pattani, Phuket, and Surat Thani.
The training reflects the role of PSU Trang Campus as a collaborative learning space for developing the capabilities of university personnel. Participants are encouraged to apply AI technologies to teaching and learning, research, and the development of new innovations in practical and meaningful ways.
“The PSU ICT Talent Development and Innovation Center will serve as an important platform for strengthening the capabilities of people in Southern Thailand and the Andaman region. We aim to develop programs aligned with international standards, including short courses, non-degree programs, digital professional qualifications, and preparation for internationally recognized certifications,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwet Arunberkfa.
Beyond its on-site facilities at PSU Trang Campus, the center will also serve as a central platform for blended learning, providing students, members of the public, and personnel from both the public and private sectors with greater access to digital knowledge and learning opportunities. The initiative forms part of “PSU Academy: Learning for the Future,” which seeks to promote lifelong learning and provide people of all ages with opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills needed for a rapidly changing future.
