Prince of Songkla University receives 5-star rating at HURS 2025

Prince of Songkla University, or PSU, has received a 5-Star Rating in the Healthy University Rating System, or HURS, for 2025. This recognition reflects the university’s continued commitment to promoting health and well-being within the university community and its growing role in advancing health promotion at the international level. The Healthy University Rating System 2025 was developed to assess health promotion practices among higher education institutions. The assessment is based on a self-evaluation process covering 46 indicators across 22 areas under the Healthy University Framework, or HUF.

According to the assessment results reported by the ASEAN University Network – Health Promotion Network, or AUN-HPN, and Mahidol University, PSU’s achievement demonstrates its strong policy commitment and systematic efforts to create a supportive environment for the well-being of students and staff. The result also highlights the university’s important role in improving the overall quality of life and well-being of its university community in a sustainable manner.

The HURS assessment criteria consist of three main components: Systems and Infrastructure, worth 470 points; Zero Tolerance Areas, worth 270 points; and Health Promotion Areas, worth 260 points, for a total score of 1,000 points. The rating scale is divided as follows: 1 to 199 points earns 1 star; 200 to 399 points earns 2 stars; 400 to 599 points earns 3 stars; 600 to 799 points earns 4 stars; 800 to 899 points earns 5 stars; and 900 points or above earns 5 Stars Plus.
