Metric: Measures against discrimination

Provide access schemes for people with disabilities such as mentoring or other targeted support

Prince of Songkla University provides targeted access and support schemes to enable students and other persons with disabilities to participate in education, university life and preparation for employment.

PSU Disability Support Services

The PSU Disability Support Services Center (PSU DSS CENTER / PSU DSS Buddy Home) provides dedicated support for students with disabilities and students with special educational needs.

Targeted support includes:

  • assistive technologies and learning-support equipment;

  • support personnel, including sign-language interpreters where required;

  • assistance and reasonable adjustments for examinations;

  • coordination of scholarships and welfare assistance;

  • referral to counselling and mental-health support through PSU HomeCare; and

  • coordination of physical accessibility and Universal Design within the University.

These services are designed to reduce disability-related barriers and enable students to participate more fully in academic and university life.

Mentoring and Counselling Support

Students with disabilities can also access free counselling, mentoring and psychological support through PSU HomeCare (Baan Waisai Songkhla Nakarin). Trained personnel provide individual guidance and psychological support to help students manage academic, personal and emotional challenges.

Targeted Skills and Employment Support

PSU also provides targeted development opportunities for persons with disabilities through its Vocational Training Programme for Persons with Disabilities.

The programme includes a 450-hour training curriculum incorporating mentoring, professional skills development, communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork and preparation for workplace integration.

Through these targeted schemes, PSU supports people with disabilities from access to education and participation in university life through to preparation for employment and greater social inclusion.
