10.6.5 University diversity officer
Metric: Measures against discrimination
Have a diversity and equality committee, office or officer (or the equivalent) tasked by the administration or governing body to advise on and implement policies, programmes and trainings related to diversity, equity, inclusion and human rights on campus.
Prince of Songkla University has formally established a University Working Group on the Promotion of Gender Equality to support the development and implementation of institutional measures on equality and non-discrimination.
The Working Group includes representatives from central administrative units, faculties and multiple PSU campuses, reflecting a university-wide governance mechanism.
Its responsibilities include:
developing policies, measures and action plans to promote gender equality;
providing assistance, compensation and remedies for persons affected by unfair gender discrimination;
promoting education, research and knowledge dissemination on the prevention of discrimination;
receiving and considering complaints related to unfair gender discrimination;
establishing interim protection or remedial measures where appropriate; and
coordinating with governmental, private-sector and civil-society organisations.

This formal governance mechanism supports PSU’s implementation of policies and programmes related to equality, inclusion, non-discrimination and protection of human dignity across the University.
