6.5.3 Off-campus water conservation support
Metric: Water in the community
Support water conservation off campus
Prince of Songkla University supports practical water conservation beyond its main campus through the development of a 35,000 m³ reservoir and overflow-weir system in the Thung Yai extension area, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
The reservoir stores water for practical and irrigation use while slowing runoff during periods of heavy rainfall. This helps conserve water resources, improve local water management, and reduce flood risk for surrounding communities.
The project demonstrates PSU’s commitment to sustainable water conservation and climate resilience beyond the main university campus.
