4.3.4 Education outreach activities beyond campus
Metric: Lifelong learning measures
Undertake educational outreach activities (e.g. tailored lectures or demonstrations) beyond campus – in local schools, in the community. This can include voluntary student-run schemes.
Prince of Songkla University extends educational opportunities beyond its campuses by transferring academic knowledge, research and innovation to local communities, schools and public organisations across Southern Thailand.
In February 2025, PSU Pattani Campus, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, higher education institutions, government agencies, private-sector partners and local communities, organised “Sueb Sin, San Sang, Nawattakam Pha Batik” (Preserving Heritage, Creating Batik Innovation) in Pattani Province.
The initiative transferred knowledge in science, research and innovation to local communities to support product development, enhance economic value and strengthen the grassroots economy. By integrating academic expertise with local cultural knowledge, the programme supported community learning as well as sustainable livelihood development.

PSU also worked with local authorities to expand educational opportunities for school students. In 2025, PSU Phuket Campus collaborated with Phuket City Municipality and Kathu Municipality to provide learning opportunities in foreign languages, science, business administration and computing through short-term educational activities, hands-on learning and access to university expertise.

These activities demonstrate PSU’s continuing commitment to bringing university knowledge beyond the campus and expanding access to learning for communities, schools and members of the wider public.
