Have a programme in place on student food insecurity.

Prince of Songkla University (PSU) has programmes in place to support students experiencing food insecurity and financial hardship related to daily meal expenses.

In 2025, PSU implemented targeted food-support initiatives across its campuses to help financially disadvantaged students maintain access to adequate meals and reduce the financial burden associated with food costs.

Lunch Scholarship Programme – Trang Campus

Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus, in collaboration with PSU alumni and members of the public, operates the Lunch Scholarship Programme to assist students facing financial hardship.

In the 2025 academic year, the programme provided:

  • 10 lunch scholarships

  • 2,000 THB per student

  • 20,000 THB in total support

The scholarships were targeted at students from the Faculty of Commerce and Management and the Faculty of Architecture whose annual family income did not exceed 200,000 THB.

The programme was implemented between December 2024 and June 2025 and was designed to reduce students’ food-related financial burden and support their well-being and continued participation in university life.

PSU Pattani Sharing Lunch

Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, implemented the PSU Pattani Sharing Lunch initiative in 2025 to raise funds for lunch support for financially disadvantaged students.

The programme mobilised contributions from students, alumni, staff, and the wider PSU community through:

  • donations via e-Donation;

  • donated items for fundraising activities; and

  • a campus fundraising event held on 6 September 2025.

The initiative successfully raised 110,500 THB, enabling the provision of:

  • 221 lunch scholarships

  • 500 THB per scholarship

The programme therefore provided direct financial assistance to students experiencing economic hardship and helped improve access to daily meals.
